On arrival I was greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome. I was shown around, and was very pleased with the cleanliness and the facilities available. Staying in room 7 I had the pleasure of the view over the Clyde in the morning, to say a beautiful view would be an understatement. (Rooms 1 and 9 have this too) Breakfast was a highlight, proper choice of cooked breakfast but without the 6fl oz of grease normally associated with such things. Traditional array of marmalades and jams with a generous portion of toast. The following day I met Hennie, who was lovely and asked if there was anything I needed. So my stay went. A very pleasant and restful trip with a lovely setting and fantastic hosts. It's the little characteristics and idiosyncracies that make a place, and this place has them. Some may complain about the simplistic nature of the accomodation, but the real value is in the obvious love the owners have for the place. For example, I was cold coming in from a long afternoon outside, and felt the need for an extra blanket. One was already provided. During the cleaning of the room, the obviously conscientious owners noticed the blanket, and accordingly put the heating on during my subsequent evenings, which I have to admit, though some may say a small thing, it made my stay all the more comfortable, knowing that these subtleties are noticed. The shower is outstanding, proper high pressure that leaves you feeling like you've just had 6 layers of dirt removed instead of just 1. It's a lovely place to stay, and I would definitely come back again and recommend to others.

Excellent B & B, spacious room, not en-suite but great bath robe to get you to and from the bath or shower. Excellent breakfast with a big pot of tea. Nice owners. Good position on edge of town center, garage and shop on door step and pub around the corner, with usable dart board if you move a table and 2 chairs, which they are happy for you to do.
